In a dull La Liga match that provided little excitement, Atletico Madrid stumbled to a goalless draw with relegation-threatened Alavés on Saturday.

Simeon said,  "Neither side could get the upper hand, either in possession or in attack, there were no shots in the first half - the game was played in the middle of the pitch without any danger.”

With quick reflexes between the posts, Sivera extended to block a stinging drive from Clément Lenglet. Atlético surged forward in quest of a breakthrough that never materialized, and moments later, Ángel Correa found himself at the end of a lightning-fast counter but wasted the opportunity, unable to apply the finishing touch.
