Cryptography Back In Crypto?

Cryptography Back In Crypto?

Chelsea Manning, the security expert and whistleblower, has recently become involved in a privacy-focused cryptocurrency by the name of Nym. Whilst she remains skeptical of cryptocurrencies in general, she does find the cryptographic aspects particularly interesting.

Chelsea Manning, the former U.S. Army private who was incarcerated for seven years following one of the largest military document leaks in history, stated on Thursday at Consensus 2023 that her current mission is to reintroduce cryptography back into crypto-based currency. Additionally, Manning articulated her hesitance about financial speculation with both digital assets and fiat currencies alike.

Elizabeth Manning believes that privacy should be considered from the beginning in order to ensure a secure internet. She argued that the existing infrastructure and history of the internet would make it difficult to promote true privacy, and that we cannot not simply "slap on" solutions for a truly secure system. With this in mind, Manning advocated for changes from within to improve our current state of security.
