Naoya Inoue Arrives in the U.S. and Holds First Training Session Ahead of Las Vegas Title Defense

Naoya Inoue, the undisputed super bantamweight champion, has officially kicked off his U.S. campaign as he arrived in Los Angeles on April 24 (JST) and held a public training session ahead of his May 5 (JST) title defense in Las Vegas.

Inoue, who holds all four major belts in the division, will face WBA No. 1 ranked contender Ramon Cardenas of the United States. Speaking to the media during his workout, Inoue kept his focus sharp: “I just need to be cautious of his one-shot power. That’s the only thing I’m watching for.”

Straight off the plane, Inoue headed to a local gym, where he spent around 15 minutes doing light shadowboxing and mitt work, showcasing his form and fitness. “Surprisingly, the fatigue has lifted quickly after arriving. Mentally and physically, I’m feeling good,” he said, expressing confidence in his current condition.
